When we did the boy quilt (or as I like to think of "Joseph's quilt") we went with the same layout as the girls (aka Mary's) quilt - only we went BOLD with the fabric. There's a lot of variety in this one - we have aliens and sharks and stars and lots of blues, greens and reds. I do love the sashing - it's bright red with "chalk" math patterns on it. We are going with a deep royal blue fleece backing, with a slightly lighter plain blue (because we have LOTS of pattern everywhere else) binding. I think it's quite fun and very different (despite the similar layout) from the girls.
